HISTORY

Myto Field Hockey was founded in 2018 by coaches Krista Jackson and Amber Zimmermann. Myto stands for Mitochondria – the powerhouse of a cell. One season when they were coaching together at a local high school, the players pointed out that their play drawn on the whiteboard resembled a mitochondria. From then on, Myto became the name of what they hoped to be a successful field hockey organization some day. During the fall of 2018, they decided to make that dream a reality. With endless support from players, parents, and community members, they were able to form Myto Field Hockey. As leaders of Myto, Krista, Amber, and Bry have a deeply rooted passion for field hockey that they hope to instill in young athletes and aspiring coaches.
